Gail and David were so romantic and thoughtful. It seemed that every detail had a meaningful purpose - from the date chosen, the church to the reception site. David gave a few extra meaningful surprises of his own - my favorite? Asking Susan Greenbaum to serenade Gail with “Mrs. Robinson” as the newlyweds met their friends in the rotunda of the Jefferson before dinner.

]]>I photographed their engagement portrait/save-the-date photo at their cabin home the other week where we were surrounded by fall foliage and happy dogs. Couldn’t have been more fun. ]]>Michelle & Abdessamad’s fairy-tale romance started in Morocco and was sealed with a kiss at her alma-mater, Sweet Briar College. Gorgeous blue-bird skies were overhead and huge smiles on everyone’s faces - the day couldn’t have been more perfect for wedding photography.

I met Chris Tilghman back in 2003 when I made photos of him for his book Mason’s Retreat. He has been using that image for over 8 years now so when he contacted me about a new author portrait I was delighted to work with him again. Chris claims that being the subject of a photo is like “being at the dentist”, but you would never know as he seems so relaxed. He’s got a great look and personality and we got a ton of incredible shots. I can’t wait to see which photo he chooses for the dust jacket.
Chris Tilghman resides in Charlottesville, Va. His new book is being published by Farrar Straus and Giroux and will come out Spring 2012. Check back then and I will post a link to the book.

These two high-school sweethearts tied the knot at St. Thomas Aquinas and then celebrated with family and friends at Carter Mountain Orchard. I was so excited to be a part of their big day - and loved that they planned in extra time for wedding portraits of them around Charlottesville and then more up at the Orchard. We got so many great photos. What a perfect day - congrats you two!

]]>It was a night full of love, fun and Estonian traditions - including “stealing the of the bride”. Everyone was having such a great time, it was easy to make stunning wedding photos. The ceremony and wedding took place at the family home in North Garden right outside of Charlottesville, VA. It seemed that everything had been planted in mind for this late summer wedding as the property couldn’t have looked better with blooming flowers and trees everywhere and to top it off, we had the most gorgeous skies during the ceremony and group photos. Best of all were the constant smiles and loving gazes exchanged by the bride and groom all night long. It was a perfect wedding.
